Hi,

I'm looking for information as to the correct decals I should be using on the helmets for the crews of the two tanks I'm working on. One is a 1/16 RC Tiger 1 and the other is a 1/16 King Tiger.

I have purchased helmets for the crew of each of these tanks (5 crew members each).

I would like to get the correct decals for these helmets. From what I gather, there should be two decals mounted on each helmet (left and Right).

However, these decals will vary depending on which branch the unit falls under.

My Tiger 1 is done up for the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte. If I'm correct and based on my research, this unit would have come under the "Waffen SS". So the decals on the helmet should be as follows: On the right side is a white shield with black SS and on the left is a red shield with the swastika in the middle.

My King Tiger will be painted according to the scheme used for 506 Panzer Division, Eiffel 1945.
However, I'm not certain which ones would be correct for the 506 Panzer Division. I believe that they would have come under the "Panzer Army".

If this was the case, then the decals should be a Black, White and Red striped Shield on the right and the German eagle on the left.

Hopefully someone can let me know if I'm correct or at least give me the right info.

You may find that printing your own will be the best route,here are a few site which may have the information you seek.Bets of luck. Also Dietrich knows the 101 SS Leibstandarte, he may have better information?

Some of those look like the ones I mentioned.

I had some success with decals,yet there was a vender state side who sold these in 1/16 scale,I will try and locate that site and link it for you. You might consider a PM to Dietrich. He has researched the 101 in depth.

Post some pictures of your crew when possible,always interested in Figures in this scale.Certainly a skill in itself,an one I do not possess.
