hi chaps wot wot
I have ordered myself a mato Sherman m4a1 but not sure if I have done the right thing as opposed to the hl one I like the cast hull type best but feel the mato is a little big and miss shaped bottom end ? the h/l a little small the bottom end a little small ?so wots it to be, a 76 or 105 I will not be trying to mod it to much more adding things than altering , not to good at modelling, re spray
yes , what do we think ?

I recently purchased a 2.4 ghz Mato Sherman, I like it better than any HL that I own.

Wiring seems heaver, all connections plug in allowing one to take it apart without cutting anything.

Motors are covered.

Airsoft gun seems to shoot much harder than any HL I have.

The tracks are half metal and very well made.

The rear idlers have a steel reinforcement piece inside the hull.

I only wish someone would make drop in steel gears, but most seem to say the stock gear boxes hold up well.

And it is 2.4 ghz

I have been on the fence since the HL one came out. Wanting to do a Firefly VC so HL one fits the bill better. The 2.4 Ghz from Mato is a big plus, and if you wante cast hull anyway Mato is an easy choice.

I did order HL Sherman at the end. The hull also comes off clean now unlike the old HL tanks. All of the tools, hooks and attachments are separately packaged and not molded on the hull. I have to bought any of the newer HL until this one and I was pleasantly surprised at the improvement in quality.

I also think that the HL Sherman is the better choice if you have to build a specific model before and accessories market is beginning to deliver more and more parts. We have now been retrofitted metal chain tensioner

Edwin, did you find that you need the track tensioner ? Mine is running quite well without it and it has a little slack so looks quite realistic as well. Of course the other difference is that there is a HL version that has recoil and IR, whereas the Mato one is only BB I believe. It might make a difference to some if they are not interested in mod and just want to play right out of the box.

I just converted my HL BB Sherman to a recoil using the Impact 17Pdr barrel and it was quite a bit of work to say the least. I am still not too happy with it. I am not too sure if it would have been any easier had I waited for the IR version which is tough to find if it is even available yet. I did manage to squeeze in an asiatam recoil into the turret........

Hi MichaelC,

Coming as models exclusively for off-road driving comes to building a functioning chain tensioner herum.von to meet with us and without the chain tensioner but often fall off when they lengthen.

Dave, couple of questions for you:

1. Does the Mato Sherman metal VVSS boggies fit the new HL Sherman lower hull and metal tracks ?
2. Does your early front cover conversion fit the HL Sherman ? Is it a direct replacement of the stock one ?
3. The most important one, do you ship to Canada ?
