Hi and welcome to the forum Sussex boy.

Usual problems are flat batteries and loose or faulty crystals.

Ian.

Hi sussexboy.... 59 ? .... Tanker fact Number 1 ... we dont stop playing because we get old ... we get old when we stop playing !

Is this a recent purchase ? . does the tank "start up" with the engine sound ok , but upon trying to move forward/backwards you
get a high pitch tone through the speaker and nothing else works ?

I had this recently and it was traced to a faulty RX18 unit . Do you have another tank you can swop it from and check ?

Gordo (49 and counting ! )

hi there. i think the first thing to do is if you have another tank is change out the crystalls in the tank and handset. if still no go then you need to see if you have good power in the battery do the lights flash bright on the front of the tank. is so then you need to look at the small receiver board change out that if that makes no joy then the link lead from the receiver to the rx18 no joy still rx18 next
check all wires fit in the rx18 and are not loose. sometimes the rx18 board comes loose as its only held on with double sided tape and can tug on the wires. if you follow this process you will eliminate each item in turn as you go along. hope it helps. dave

Hi Sussexboy,

I'm fairly new to this too, and live in Sussex. I have not gotten round to posting in the Introduce Yourself section yet. I keep meaning to take some pics of my tanks and post but not gotten round to it yet.

Where abouts in Sussex are you? I ask because I have spare crystals, receiver board and rx18 if you need to try swapping them out.

If I can help let me know.

Paul

Hi Sussexboy,

I didn't realise you had moved. Shame because I am not to far from Lewes in Eastbourne. If I can still help out let me know.
