Unhealthy Obsession

Hi All,

Since the arrival of the metal hatches for my PzIV I have found myself wanting/needing to make every hinged part
of the tank operational. This obsession has resulted in in various cuts, some burns, a lot of ear bending, and svere eyestrain.
I'm sure the PzIV will be great at the end of it, but will my eyes survive?
Are there any other sufferers out there?

Cheers
John

i would love to hinge my tiger. though my modelling days are just starting i dont have the guts yet to waste my tank! if they were already cut and all i had to do was build them then it would be easy. i will stick to modding the inside of my tank just now.

John, I know exactly what you mean I had the same problem with the Aber kit and other PE parts I have worked with, yes your eyes will recover just rest them for a few days

Yep, I've got the same problem with my WSN T-34. Have just recently done the last one which was the air cooling cover. This meant I had to make up a new platform inside - then I had to cut out two long air slats and make them rotatable. Now all I need is some mesh the right size to replace the plastic and then I'll be able to see the slats when the cover is down. The plan is to use small magnets 1mm cubed (available from EBay for magicians!) to hold the hathes shut.

The two turret hatches open (I've put an HL airsoft unit in it too), the periscopes rotate. The engine hatch on the top, and the circular one at the rear open too....

One day I'll be content enough to paint it!!

Will the madness of this hobby never end?
;D

Good to see that you've got your priorities right Tony  ;)
I decided to hinge the lid on the PzIV's rommelkist yesterday. ( Don't ask why )
Has anyone else done this mod? The bloody thing is made to survive a bomb blast?
