Ok so i am going after a Tamiya for sure, i love building models so i figure it will be my smartest choice! (Plus i got a receiver & Radio already) I have been looking at these kits and only seem to find bits & pieces of reviews on each one so any help on these questions would be great

-King Tiger (Love King Tigers, but i have heard its not a good kit detail wise?)
-Tiger 1 (they seem out of stock? or at least unavailable to be ordered right now from the wholesaler by my local store)
-Panther G (Seems the newest kit, and i have heard it has some bugs?)
-Panzer 4 (never seen anyone with this kit for some reason...)

First and foremost let me start by saying the Tamiyas are top notch..

Second thing, everything you have heard about any of the kits is totally UNTRUE!

You said:
-King Tiger (Love King Tigers, but i have heard its not a good kit detail wise?) ***Has great detail, Tamiyas always do***
-Tiger 1 (they seem out of stock? or at least unavailable to be ordered right now from the wholesaler by my local store) ***They are available online, especially EBAY***
-Panther G (Seems the newest kit, and i have heard it has some bugs?) ***No Bugs what so ever!!***
-Panzer 4 (never seen anyone with this kit for some reason...) ****I have had 2 so far, have a third but will use it for a Stug IV.. Great kit, a little tight inside, but not hard to overcome!****

Sounds like who ever you spoke to never owned one, or they have a Heng long and are jealous of Tamiya..
Heng longs are ok, but not great to begin with, they have poor detail, like the tools are molded part of the hull, Takiyas are always seperate.. Still alot of guys have the Heng Longs, they do some miracle work to them, but it is not without cost..
Congrats on your choice for a tamiya, or even a Heng long, once you get a tank you will be on your way!

Cheers

So which one would be best for a complete RC noob? i have lots of Model building\painting experience though...... So i am looking at what i know i can have ordered (I refuse to use e-bay as customs will add 150-300 dollars on anything i buy from outside canada....)

Panzer 4,Panther G,King Tiger

I have to say that for the time I have been on this forum, I have not heard or seen someone who is a HL guy and say bad things about Tamiya because they are jealous. I have never owned a Taimya and my experience and impression from this forum is that they cost more per tank, and they are amazing quality when compared to HL which I don't doubt at all.

The money I spent on each tank if I added them up probably equal to Tamiya ones, but that was how things work out. I don't regret that I spent so much and could have have Tamiya in the first place, nor do I feel jealous that I didn't and others have.

Looks like White Tiger just got bad information from someone.

Most likely, but i am now looking at the Panther G, Panzer IV & King Tiger as my main tanks.....

I have to agree the Tamiya kits are amazingly detailed, and when built are amazing tanks, I have a couple of Heng Long tanks now, and though they are very nice tanks, I will be looking at some of the other ones next time out!

Good luck with which ever you go for White Tiger, hope to see some photos ;)

The older panther had sprocket issues and a wobbly barrel but this has been sorted

Fair enough, King Tiger or Panther hmmmmm (New versions of both) what is going to need less upgrades lol

Panther will be slightly better, both are fine. The idlers need some modification on the kingtiger but this can be done in 10 minutes with some epoxy putty
