Any tips for cutting styrene sheet?

I don't know why I didn't ask this blindingly obvious question on here before.  :-\

Some of you master craftsmen out there seem to be able to cut and mould styrene sheet with 100% accuracy with consummate ease. Even microscopic sizes. I appreciate that you may all be members of the RC Tanks Freemasons society, but if anyone can break ranks and pass on your inner secrets with the rest of us fumble fingers out here it would be much appreciated!  ;)

On thicker plasticard I use a craft knife upside down, so I'm using the blunt tip of the blade. And I don't try and cut through in one go, just keep scribing away getting deeper.
