Need Help To Solve A Problem

For ages now I have had a small MP3 player inside my Tamiya Sherman that plays All For The Love Of Sunshine and Burning Bridges when im using the tank ;D  but because I have the MP3 player, the battery pack (3 x AA), a switch and the speaker inside room is a little tight and turning the switch and MP3 player on and off is a pain in the ass, What I would like to do is somehow have the music come on when I press a switch on the transmitter (im using 4 channels) and have it powered by the tank battery, so im thinking I need to ditch the MP3 player, but what can I use instead  ??? is there some kind of circuit board you can load audio files on to that can be powered through the tank, but at the same time keeping the tank noises separate, which would mean a second speaker, or does anybody know of a better way of solving my problem :(

what electronics have you got in youre tank?, if you have elmod you can put music files on the sd card on the blaster.

hi keith, you can buy the blaster on its own, but how you would wire it in to the tam' electrics i wouldnt know in my Tiger i went sraight to a full elmod setup, it would be worth emailing thomas at elmod and asking his advice, it can be wired into the HL electrics, so i cant see why it cant be done with the tamiya setup

Hi Keith Cant think of a way other than the one your doing the only thing I can think of to switch it on and off is to change the switch on the mp3 to fit a remote  press on press off switch then have it activated with the barrel servo when the barrel is full up or down which ever is best it switches it on or off.You would have to go full el-mod to fit sound blaster but dont no if you can play music and engine sounds at same time .

what about a failsaafe unit that would drive a mini servo to switch the mp3 player on when you switch the tx on and would switch it off when the tx is off
It would better with a extra channel if not you could always use a Y lead of an exsisting channel ,you could even mount the lot inside the speaker box to save space
just an idea  ;D

one of these ;D

Is there anything like this sound generator that you can buy where you can add your own sounds/music, nice and cheap and compact.

hi keith
dont darkith do a sound card with thier battle systems, i think i read some where on here they do(though not 100% sure). if thats the case, you may be able to do something with that, it may be worth emailing them to find out for sure

David's sound card only plays short samples, maybe 10-15 secs at most.

Found this searching the web. Might be a bit OTT though.
