Does any good person know the exact resistance of this element, and the unwound length of the same please?
I believe it is.003mm diameter approx, but I'm not not at all sure about the other factors relating to it. Thanks,
Ooops! missed the decimal point and two naughts, Doh!

The resistance has been measured at 15.5 ohm - see this topic for more information

I've played around a bit with different resistance, lower draws more current and generates more heat and smoke. Managed to go down to 12ohms running of a RX18 with out causing damage.

Thanks for your replies guys.

I'm guessing I'll need to get a spool of suitable nichrome wire with an appropriate diameter and play around a bit to see what results I can get without messing the board up.
