cutting down the hight of the ariel
hi guys can anyone tell me iff cutting down the hight of the ariel will effect the handling of the tank or just the range tanker242
Re: cutting down the hight of the ariel
The length is arial has to remain the sum But you can remove some from it as long as you replace the same amount as wire inside the tank. you may find a small lose of range but it will still work. hope this helps

Re: cutting down the hight of the ariel
Hi tanker 242,
Quite a few members have completely removed the External Aerial altogether and use an Internal Aerial. The correctly sized external aerial is simply a 'Replica' of the original on the tank and does not actually receive anything......it just 'Looks' the part, if that makes sense ?
On one of my Tigers I actually made a 'Metal' tow cable and then used it as the 'Real' Aerial and replaced the deck one with a plastic 'Bristle' from a garden brush....My Aerial connection is soldered to it and is the slightly 'lumpy bit' on the Drivers Side, in front of the deck screw, between the wire drum and the wooden crate......I did it years ago and unfortunately my Modeling/ Painting skills are not brilliant....but it is meant to be a 'Garden Runner' ...and not an exact model...
