RC Tank Warfare community hobby forum

Hello all,

I'm new to RC Tanks but not RC in general; I've been flying RC helicopters since 2003, dabbled in RC planes, and used to race nitro buggies before I started flying. My

I initially got interested in RC Tanks while I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2011, and bought a 1/16 Tamiya Sherman kit when I got home last year. I didint get aorund to starting any kind of assembly, as I got hired by a local police department and spent most of the year at the academy. Now that I'm done and have a minute to catch my breath, I'm looking forward to building my kit and learning what I can from this forum along the way.

Gregg welcome to the forum, so you have bought a Tamiya tank, you are obviously extremely wealthy and in possesion of great good taste! You will examine the contents of these pages looking for hints and tips in the completion of your Sherman, just remember once you realise you need to buy parts to upgrade you really should go to the vendors site which has an approved section and a disaproved section, use that site wisely and you will save yourself money and agravation. You will have lots of questions and we just cannot wait to answer them, all you have to do is ASK. shaun

Welcome to the forum, as Shaun said, just recce around the site and you'll get it all figured out. I did the same thing in 2008, after my tour, I got the Tamiya Leo 2A6 and a HL Tiger 1 in '04. Tore down the HL Tiger in 2005 after running the guts out of her and looking at all the inaccuracies. Went back overseas in '06 and got home forgetting how to put all the electronics back. Hence the new project down in the Heng Long forum. What unit were you with?
