Hi! i'm slowly looking for a new project this summer and since I like to prepare myself and do my searches in advance to see what's available and what's good and what's not, i'll ask you guys about this...

I would love to have a canadian WW2 tank in my collection...I know that canadians mostly used american and english tanks except for a few exceptions like the Rams...you guys have any suggestions of what I could do? You also have to know that i'm pretty new at using styrene and stuff like that for my projects...

RAM would almost have to be made from scratch

Grizzly is basically a M4 with different tracks

Churchill I heard, Valentine, Mathilda, even M3 I think, Firefly...Crusader...that's where my knowledge stop...and I know that most of these models arent available as RC or static to be modified...

thanks alot from a noob ;)

i've read a bit about that perticular battle and nobody knows what destroyed Wittmann's tiger...some claims that it's the Sherbrooke Fusiliers who had some Sherman III and 2 Sherman VC and other claim that a Sherman Firefly of the 1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry shot it...even some says that he got bombed and that's what got it...

still the Sherbrooke Fusiliers have the legendary Sherman M4A4 "bomb" that was never knocked off or damaged during the war...it's actually restored as a momument in Sherbrooke, an hour away from here...

actually I might have found something pretty interesting and the tank is just around the corner (let say an hour of drive) it's not as firefly but still an impressive tank...and probably alot more work...the M4A4 Sherman nicknamed "Bomb" the problem will be to extend the hull for the Chrysler engine...

I think most of the Sherman A2/A4s were lend lease and the American's never used them, so any conversion from A1/A3 would be pretty significant undertaking. Turret opening and cupolas are all different, and the hull is probably even more difficult.

i'm just looking for ideas right now, I still have plenty of time to settle myself a build...i'm only starting around may or something...when the temperature will be comfy in my workplace...right now, it's kinda cold in there

I have to say though it would be really cool to be able to get pictures and see the actual tank and build around it. My vote was for the "Bomb" for sure.......... :-) The turret looks pretty standard Mato fair, and the hull you can start with the Tamiya Sherman 105 or the new HL turret and hull. Hopefully by that time it will be available.

Can you climb onto the tank to check it out and snap pictures ?

i'll go take a look at the spring..but i'm pretty sure it's probably locked from inside or something like that... I dont think they would allow people to climb...but might be worth take a look tho..specially if I can talk to somebody and tell them it is to make an accurate RC version of it
