hi all
ive just got my new digital taigen panzer 4 with metal
tracks & susspension but it has plastic wheels, sprockets
& idlers.
i imagine metal tracks will munch through plastic,
sprockets in particular, in no time at all.
so my question is, can i get away with just getting
metal sprockets & idlers?
& how long would you envisage plastic sprockets & roadwheels
actually lasting?
seems a bit odd to me but hey ho.
cheers

I'd go for the sprocket and idler upgrade. Road wheels should last since thet aren't really under any real stress/ abrasion. Even if you leave it as is it will probably last a year or two if you only run it on hard surfaces. on gravel or grass the sprockets might not last long at all.

I would check the gearboxes are metal as well if they are metal sprockets and idlers will do.

Hi
Metal Drive sprockets and idlers will do just fine with the standard plastic wheels and suspension. I have a Panzer III like this and it has run for years and put in plenty of 'Garden Miles' with no problems.
I did add a 'Metal' track tensioning system from Welsh Dragon and that was well worth it !!....Sticks have jammed the suspension and stopped tracks and so has snow but everything still works perfectly , its a great little tank :D .

Thanks guys
Yeah its got zinc gears,
Which I'm not too keen on.
Sprockets,idlers & adjusters are on
There way.
I've not had metal tracks before
So plastic ones are comming
As well, just in case!
The Roadwheels are expensive
So I'm relieved about that.
Also its got a nice winter paint job
Which may look funny with metal
Wheels & my painting skills :D
Cheers

I got mine (have the same tank) from Nitrotek. I know it's on the black list, but I had zero problem with them and the delivery was next day or two.

I have just placed an order with them for the Taigen King Tiger and hope to have it by tuesday. I'll report back on that. :)
