I purchased 3 tanks for my sons this Christmas on Amazon and all three have the same frequency 27.195 (crystal). Where can I get different crystals?

Buyers in the UK should be aware that some of the crystals currently being advertized on eBay for Heng Long tanks are in frequencies which
cannot legally be used in the UK in ground radio controlled vehicles. (Only the use may be illegal, it is not illegal to sell them and their use may be perfectly legal in other countries).
If you have ever wondered why Heng Long tanks supplied by the mainstream UK retailers are only available in a limited number of frequency options this is probably the reason.
Of the Heng Long crystals which are commonly available for sale the following frequencies can legally be used in Heng Long tanks in the UK -
27.145MHz, 27.195MHz, 27.095MHz
For further information check out the website for the UK Radio Control Council -
http://www.ukrcc.org
A list of permitted 27MHz frequencies can be found here -
http://www.ukrcc.org/27mhz.html
Now that Taigen have released the new 2.4GHz system, crystals in Heng Long and Taigen tanks may become a thing of the past, some of the new Taigen tanks already have the 2.4GHz system as standard.
