hi guys...am looking for, but having no luck finding, spray paints (rattle cans) and was wondering if someone can help me with code no.s and somewhere pref in the uk that sells em..?
i'm after a desert sand matt colour and also a u.s. olive drab matt colour..
have found some paint charts for tamiya and humbrol but theres so many different sorts of paint and got no idea where to start..
p.s. i do have an airbrush and compressor but have not had time to learn to use it yet which is why i'm after some rattle cans to tide me over for now..!

they do enamels and for about 8.50 a can they are a good price dont do an impressive range but the base ones are there

Hi Stuart what are you painting.If your painting a U.S tank Iwould use your air brush before spraying your model try it on card or somthing I use revell no 86 on my U.S stuff . Go on give it a go

fv..had a look at the flair models and they do a olive drab but primarily need a desert sand colour..they list a matt yellow but not a sand colour..? also, is enamel straight forward to use from a can (drying times, compatibility etc)..?
dog..first to be sprayed needs to be my new toy..tamiya humvee xb..!! came with the painted camo shell which i want to keep intact as long as poss so have ordered a spare shell which comes in green and wanted to paint desert sand colour..nothing fancy..
after this will be my 2xbulldogs although this won't be for a little while..i did buy a cheap compressor and airbrush but the one try i had of it just spraying onto cardboard was really not very encouraging..!! i know it was down to the mixing and sort of paints i tried but theres so much info out there its a little overwelming..!! i need an IDIOTS guide to what to use and i just haven't had the time recently to practice, although i will be...

i prefer enamels for brush and spray see what you mean about the desert spray think humbrol still do the rattle cans in sand not sure on availability though

when you spray with a brush i tend to go 25% paint and 75% thinners and find tamiya acrylic sprays better  and is easier to clean up than enamels

fv..think i read somewhere else too about the tam acrylics being easier to use..? sure i read somewhere also that there are some ready to spray paints not requiring thinning/mixing for airbrushes..? not sure if they were tam ones but would be ideal for the beginner..!!
last time i tried the airbrush the results were not good... :-[ and there are so many variables, the mix of paint, type of paint, pressure of gun,etc etc...its hard to know which part of the process i got wrong.. >:(

Vallejo Model Air paints can be used straight from the bottle. And they also come in handy Panzer sets -

They als odo Allied tank colours.

good one woz forgot about vallejo never used them though but they are the dogs bits lol

Must admit, I only use the spray cans as undercoats. I agree with woz vallejo are great, loads of colours and can be mixed with water.

Tamiya do XF 60 dark yellow and XF 59 desert yellow, both good colours to have a play around with. Tamiya also have XF 49 khaki, XF 51 khaki drab and XF 62 olive drab. These are in the small jars as I think Tamiya had a UK recall re thier cans and its still ongoing.

Lifecolour also do a set of either 6 or 8 in a box of olive drab/green in various shades shades of wear, also water mixable.

I get most of my paints from www.netmerchants.co.uk they are based in Northern Ireland, I have used them now probably 20 or 30 times I guess ,and EVERY time without fail had next day delivery.

was in a local model shop this morn asking about the tam rattle cans and the bloke told me that they contain a trace of something carcinogenic and this is why they've been withdrawn here due to the usual health and safety gone mad rules..!! :-\ i live and work near heathrow airport and the fumes from the planes and vehicles i'm pretty sure are not good for you but i don't wear a michael jackson style face mask there..!
will check out the links later provided by abo and woz as i have to pop out now..
