What does everyone use for the green/blue periscope windows on tank turrets and drivers position,
do you paint it, or is there some sort of advise film you could use?

you can use alu foil, paint it with the proper colour on the shinning side, then cut and paste...

I use thin clear styrene sheet, cut to size. Then paint one side with Tamiya clear blue paint (X-23) and use the paint to stick it in place. As the paint pushes against the periscope shape's base colour (usually green/grey) it smears, leaving a shadowy look as you view it through the unpainted side. Plus, you also get a good glass effect from the clear styrene as light falls on the unpainted side.

Note: these are close up pics and the effect is much better from a normal viewing distance.

I paint my periscope sea green then I use a light shade of window tint cut and glued in place with cryanolate. I have the tint left over from my car anyway so it was low cost.
