Pantherturm

Hi all,

Has anyone attempted or built a 1/16 Pantherturm based on HL electronics ? My very first HL Panther tank was a BB version that I ended up using as parts/wreck and I am getting tired of always have to power up two tanks to test the IR functions when I am tinkering.

So far what I have in mind is using all stock HL mechanics and electronics. I even cut out the top piece of the upper hull so I can simply transferred the rotation motor over with the mounts. The box will be scratch build, but will have to be large enough to hold the battery and all the other parts that won't fit in the turret.

One of the more interesting question is, if I am using HL electronics, is it possible to cut the engine sound but still allow all the other sounds to come thru (i.e. elevation, rotation, main gun and machine gun firing) ? I suppose I could pretend that the engine sound is the sound form the generator...... (Does anyone know if the Pantherturm actually has power of any kind inside ? Is it all manual or do they have hydraulics ? )

Any suggestions or idea are welcome !

just googled it. would be cool on a battlefield. looking at the diagrams and pics, would have said any generators/hydraulic pumps would be onder ground and not very noisable( how the hell do you describle not very visable in noise terms???)

Wondering what that thing is at the bottom. Probably some kind of air filter which is good enough for me since it will make noise........ :-)

looks like a filter of some sort. a hydraulic motor would require an elctric motor or an engine to run. me i would have run all the turrets electricly fed from a common genny. air filter may be to get rid of the fumes from the shells? there is an rc one on you tube. dont know if you have seen it bud.

I don't need a working RC air filter. I am just wondering since I am using HL Electronics it will make noise and am curious to know if the real one also make noise because of generator or air filter etc.

sorry bud you misundertood. i meant a rc pantherturm. don't know how you could quiet the engine noise though but keep the gun and machine gun loud.

it's in spanish, if needed you can use the chorme translator

the 'thing in the bottom' IIRC is a heater, a stove
