anyone know where i can either buy these, or how i can make them? don't own a lathe so i'm not sure how i can make the threaded and tapped ends and make a socket for the wooden rod to fit in. any suggestions would be cool.

In 1/16 scale I think you will find that cocktail sticks are the right diameter... Then brass rod for the socket ends. If someone knows a good source of appropriate screw threads I would certainly like to know...

I Jeff, I made some using wooden knitting needles for sock they in different size dia some small metal beads used for spacers in jewery making and some 2mm bolts with the heads cut of all found on Ebay hope this helps pete

weeelll was just looking at a lap top that died and is going to donate it's speakers, but the screws that hold it together are about right. might try and wrap paper round a screw and a cocktail stick and see how that looks. been tryingt to get a m7 die for the bike and it was £50 hate to think what a m1 or m2 tap and die would be

You can buy packs of small BA screws on ebay - 14 or 16BA would be about right, although I just used a piece of 0.7mm brass wire in the end of a cocktail stick & painted the last 3mm of the stick to look metal - so small you'd need glasses to see that its not threaded.

They are in the USA, but were happy to post to me in France...I bought some Stainless Steel nuts and bolts from them and the service was brilliant as is the product.
Here are a couple of photos of the bolts....but I can send you a photo of just a nut and bolt if you want to see.They stock a very large amount of stuff so I am sure that they can help and the prices were amazingly good !!

I had been searching the 'Usual Places' for small nuts and bolts like ebay and model railway suppliers, but the prices were outrageous.....This place in America was just so incredibly well priced and so helpful that even counting the postage it was still amazing.... The packets say that I bought ' 2-56 x3/8th' and ' 5/32x0.060' thread to match in bolts and nuts, last year.
The Bolts were $5.80 for 100 ..Thats One Hundred !!.....&
The Nuts were $3.25 for 100....making $9.05 In high grade Stainless Steel and $ 3.04 for postage.....AND with the current strength of the pound its a good deal !
I think that they may only sell imperial but so long as you buy Nuts and Bolts to match it does not matter....Unless a REAL rivet counter gets a digital caliper out and 'measures' the bolt head on your German tank..

MY digital caliper 'Translates' that into 10.56 mm in total length for the bolt and 3.18mm for the bolt head , with a 2.17mm shaft diameter......and 3.99mm for the nut diameter
So in our scale 2.17 x 16 = 34.72mm...so call it a 35 mm bolt....M35 is a pretty good size for most 'Stuff' on a tank...

I used some evergreen and some small bolts from my local railroad hobby shop.

Please can I ask what 'Evergreen' is ? and the bolts are great ...
Does your local railroad hobby shop have a web site, and do they mail order ??
