RC Tank Warfare community hobby forum

ive just got into r/c tanks after i picked up a heng long KV-1 ( a tank ive ALWAYS had a soft spot for ) complete with IR battle capabilities
i plan to add more tanks ( t34-85, tiger, and a panzer IV ) after which i may be able to get some battles going off in my back yard

unfortunatly im still not up to date on whats compatible with what in the IR world
would all my tanks need to be running the same heng long battle system ?

whats the deal with Torro ? sometimes i see it referenced as its own company, others i see it referenced as a version of heng long ? same with the MATO set >_<

are the battle systems compatible with each other ? ( IE if i got a t34-85 from welsh dragons would its IR be compatible with the HL/Torro stuff i got from tankzone ? )

WSN T34/85 won't battle with your HL KV-1. HLs will battle each other, but they won't battle the Taigen brand 2.4Ghz ones. Never tried Matorros with HLs. None of them will battle Tamiyas.

The WSN T34/85 gut is pretty crap anyway, you will be better off stripping it and replacing it with HLs if the rest of your tanks are HLs.

Sorry. Matorros only have BBs I think so that's why I never try to IR battle...... I did convert my two Matorros (KT and JT) from BBs to HL IRs and now to Taigen 2.4Ghz.

well i just picked myself up an IR panzer IV from tankzone as well to add to the KV

at least now i can get the hang of this r/c tank combat ( and hopefully entice some of my friends to purchase there own tanks )

Lilgoth, You will sooner or later visit the Vendors blacklist, you will find Tankzone on that list, My own experiance with Kin at Tankzone has always been positive, my orders have arrived in good shape and without a long delay, the only downside is their prices are slightly higher but they stock items I cannot find else-where. Oh and welcome to the most helpful gang of enthusiasts you could hope to know.

yeah lots of people dont seem to like tankzone, but they stock stuff nowhere else does

in other news ive also recived ( half ) an old bb tiger1 that i might restore to running condition and likely to IR
the electronics are shot ( although i was going to replace those anyway )
lower hull is totally trashed, all the suspention arms have snapped but the tracks, wheels and idlers seem to be in good nic, also comes with metal sprokets ( although no screws or owt )
so on the shopping list
suspention ( thinking of the metal reinforcing bars, suspention arms, and stronger springs as they would be cheeper than an all new lower hull )
electronics X2 ( also thinking of a T34-85 conversian from welsh dragon )
gearbox's ( one seems to turn freely, the other is more or less jammed, also random mix of plastic and metal gears, no motors either )

long term project that i shall likely start after christmas lol
