Can anybody recommend any decent reference books on the Sherman ? Im looking for a book that covers all variants  and has plenty of photos of the various types.

Have a look at this link in the Referance Books section and scroll through the pages of books they have to download and you will find several good Sherman books with lots of pics

My mate Keith is a Shermanholic and has some fantastic ref. books on the Shermy. I have just PM'd him to get himself onto this forum as he is in the process of "sprucing up" his HL Pershing. I sure he will give you some good titles to be going on with.
