I am reserving judgment till someone that knows is-2's checks out the tank, they did have the same motors and tracks....the wheels are the same as the late kv-1's.....the hull on the kv-1 was 6.75m long and 3.32m wide, the hull on the is-2 was 6.77m long, 3.07m wide....so far as I know, noone has put a ruler to the new tank.

People have concluded the lower hull IS the proper scale and it isn't a rehash. I don't get why people post none sense like this when the tank isn't out yet!

Well I'm hoping they rehash the Leopard 1 with different version. A nice round turret please.

Hi Guys,
I am going to 'Stick My Neck Out' and say without looking it up.......I thought that the
IS 2 ......
WAS based on a KV1 chassis ??....

.....It only weighed 46 Tonnes...so its about a 'Medium' tank in the Panther weight class.....I freely admit that I am no expert on soviet armour though...

My information came from someone who actually saw the kit... Tamiya is notorious for rehashing as you know... The lid on the lower hull is correct, but the actual duraluminum hull was from the KV1--Kv2.. So I will see when it comes out and someone compares it to their KV1..
One kit doesn't equal notoriety. Until some one has the kit and a ruler I'm sticking by what I said. Dietrich, the dimensions are fairly close but not the same.
