I recently went looking for 1/16 'checker plate' for my Stug III.

Part of the problem I had was knowing what to call it - and then what to call the particular pattern I was after.

I did discover a lot of sources on line - companies like Slaters and Evergreen - but these were all either the wrong scale (too small) or wrong pattern. Most are made for railway modellers.

However, eventually I found exactly what I was looking for:

In Europe:

In the US:

Tip time..... if you get PE check plate pour some silicon cold cure or hot cure on it, when set peel it off then get some epoxy put a thin layer on the silicon then place it on the model and when dry peel the silicon off and repeat for as much check plate as you like for next to no cost, you can cut the silicon to fit round shapes etc Its in my Famo build if you want to check it out
