Do pictures need to be hosted on another site for posting here?

No, you can attach them to posts here - all we ask is that you reduce them to a reasonable size so that they fit on the screen.

Hit "Additional Options..." when posting. This then opens up a menu under the text window, which includes the attach function.

800x600 is about the best size.....
