I use hard case 2 cell ones. There about same size as the HL pack so fit in the battery box with only small mod for the cables (as the cables come from the top of the battery not the end).
I don't use low voltage warning. Generally can tell when low as tank is a lot slower. And you get use to how long the battery lasts anyway.
Also if you don't know you'll also require a smart charger for LiPo battery.

Here's one I use

Also I add a 10A automotive fuse in the power line as that battery can deliver 150A which probably melt the cables before setting the tank on fire!

Thanks! The fuse stuff, how do you set that up? Anything ready out of the box I can buy and just connect?

If you pop into a car part shop. You see they will everything fuse, fuse holder, cable crimps etc then simply cut your red wire between battery and main switch and intsall there.
Also change tgd tamiya battery connector to a deans type because the tamiya can't cope with the amps.

I recharge at 5A in balance mode which means as the battery get nearly full it reduces the charge so it recharge first 80-90% very quickly like an hour then another hour or so for last bit. That's for a 5000mah battery.
Plus no memory effect so can top up after each use if you want plus wont discharge before next use like other batteries.

They do sell warning buzzers that will go "on" when your lipo battery gets low ...

I get over an hour easy in my metal tiger or KV-1 which both weigh 6.5kg.
