Hi all, i am writing this to warn people about the quality of torro proffesional products.
I received my 1st torro proffesional king tiger with damage to cables and poor paintwork finish which i sorted mysef with replacement cables, and since my son wanted one too i bought a 2nd through steve at WDM's.
The 1st one turned up with cable damage to which he replied he would order me another one as torro do not allow products returns for any reason, i received my 2nd one and wheel was hanging off, damage to bodywork, tow cable broken, poor paint and scratches to barrell after torro personaly said in email that it had been hand checked for quality out of the factory.
The reply from torro after 2nd email, was very rude and impolite saying that there quality is fine, i must be handling it wrong.
Steve at WDM's has been amazing with this problem, and has given me a 2.4ghz handset kit for free to say sorry as well as replacement cables, the wheels and bodywork i will sort out.
Wdm's should be congratulated for such great service. during this bad experience from torro, and feel that torro shoud be put on the blacklist as a whole, as the only way they will listen is if people do not buy there products, as most vendors would not of ordered another for you knowing he cant return the faulty tank to torro due to there returns policy, i find it unfair on good vendors like WDM's to have to loose out in pocket as i want these good vendors to stay in buisness.

The wheel can be reattached and fixed with a metric allen wrench, if the set screw is lose and not missing.
I'd be pissed with the over all condition of broken parts and paint scratches. But then 2 of the 4 HL tanks that I have had similar cosmetic issues due to shipping.

When these tanks are right, they are excellent when mated with 2.4ghz system, but does seem like they need to work on some customer service and quality issues.
Especially when good vendors are stopping selling there items due to quality and return issues.
The allen keys holding wheels on had 3 stripped threads, so have used very small cut down bolts and drilled and tapped new threads, and have filled small dings in bodywork with milliput and will touch up paint by hand.
I could understand these issues in a £100 Heng Long, but not acceptable in a tank costing £450, and even worse when they lied to customers that this one had been fully tested by senior quality control manager, does not inspire confidence.
I am grateful to the great service in putting this problem right by an excellent and understanding vendor, Thank's steve.

well sent an e mail to torro customer service to say how unhappy i was with the quality of the tank and the support i received from them, and this was there reply.
Dear Mr. xxx,
Extortion is the wrong way.
Best regards
Torro GmbH.
Extortion, really, i didnt realise that asking a company to take care of a £500 tank and to sort the quality issues out was extortion.
I rest my point with torro, be warned before purchasing there products as they are not interested in listening to customer who purchased a poor product and leave it to the vendor to put right without any kind of back up to vendor.
I am disgusted by there reply, a simple i'm sorry would of been appreciated.
Oh well tamiya it is for me in future.

Hi,
Bearing in mind the number of people who read this forum that reply could just come back to haunt them. I do hope so

Umm, surely you mean Torro, not Mattorro? Mattorro sell an all plastic King Tiger, with zimmerit, poor sound, nylon gearboxes, BB gun, suspension which is set too low.....The Torro King Tiger is a completely different beast/brand. I agree it is a damn poor performance by the Torro company/brand but we need to be accurate with who is getting the criticsm so as not to tar another brand with the wrong brush!

Mind you, their names are close, I would be interested to know if there is any link between the two companies.

After a bit of searching it seems like they may be part of the same company. Their website shows both the Matorro and Torro logos:

Thanks Scooby, Matorro / Torro are the same company.
The whole reason for me taking pics and letting community know of all this grief is so fellow tankers do not fall victim of this company products.
The thing that worry's me is that they do not accept any returns for whatever reason as they are checked for quality out of the factory, which i find very hard to believe but worryingly allows them to send out tanks of poor contruction and quality without any fear of it being returned.
This causes a real problem with the vendor, does he be honest and knock money off or send it on to customer and blame postage service, as he full well knows he cannot return it and would have to order a whole new unit from torro leaving him with a spare tank that he cannot sell at full price.
This really worry's me that torro are allowed to do this, so with there very rude poor customer service and very poor quality control and build of some of there tanks, either the vendor is honest and gets screwed or passes the buck onto the customer and they are left with a fight to get the product they deserve, i was very lucky to deal with steve@wdm's as he is a very honest and decent vendor that is out of pocket due to being honest, not many vendors would be like this.
I hope this thread will warn people about this company and how they operate, especially when £500 is being handed over i think it only right that you recieve a 100% perfect item as we are not buying it second hand, and that torro will stop hiding behind there company policy and refusing to accept that there product which has big potential needs some better quality control, and full back up to the vendor.
Thanks all rant over.

Vendors sending that kind of email for whatever reason will not get my money!
