Please be aware that the link road from Wincanton to the A371, just after you come off the A303, is due to be closed by BT from 8.00am to 4.00pm Sunday 21st. A diversion through Wincanton is in place, about a mile.

If I ever manage one bl**dy trip down there without roadworks, diversions, accidents, earthquakes and tsunami's I will dance with deep joy!!

Looking at my route on Google map, it does not appear to use the A303.

Just looked on Google Earth, I am assuming that the link road is down the first exit from the roundabout, if this is the case we shouldn't be affected.

If your coming across from Shepton Mallet you will not be affected by this.
Dom your route may be affected (best to turn off for Holton 2 miles before Wincanton) if using A303 . Wooly also if coming via Mere/Warminster.

Well I reckon if I had arrived in that village 5-10 secs earlier I would have joined all of those cars scattered all over the road, in the hedges, ditches etc! No idea what happened, but I pulled up just as they were all getting out?

I was a bit later, so just had to weave through the cars and wonder what the hell happened.
