Re: HL Truck Mods
Hi Sub,
I’ve built a few of these with metal internals & bearings, I’ve not had any washers in the kits though, they sound a very similar size to the bearings..
Cheers

Hi.
Thx for your reply yes the bearings are 6x3 but i have no idea where these are supposed to go and 10 is a strange number of them as there are 20 bearings.
Everthing fits fine and smooth so just no idea.
I am quite surprised just how much less friction there now is in the drive train compared to the standard set up..hopefully tomorrow will shoe horn in the 380 motor and 2 speed selectable gearbox.
Regards

Re: HL Truck Mods
Hi chaps.
2 speed gearbox and 380 motor fitted. Massive improvement over standard kit 180 motor and g box.
Twice as fast in high ratio and twice as powerful and torquey in low ratio a good mix of ratios.
A couple of things i found with mine are.
1......check the screws holding the servo mount to the gearbox mine were loose and would not tighten up as they are slightly too small for the holes they go in allowing the servo bracket to move around... cured this with slightly longer and wider scews.
2......the selector arm on the gearbox is a 2 part moulded affair with a seam on either side which sticks out slightly ...the servo has a small pip of plastic on its end near the servo arm probably where an internal shaft fits for the gears when fitted the servo is VERY close to the selector arm and my seam on the selector arm was catching the pip on the servo when going from low back to high ratio as the selector arm is returned to high by a return spring as the servo arm is not connected to the selector arm as it just pushes it to select low ratio and the return spring moves it back to default high as the servo arm moves out of the way.
My selector arm was catching the servo pip with the seam on its inner edge and giving me a neutral position on the gearbox so i filed this seam down to miss the pip on the servo and all was well.
Hope this is of use.

Re: HL Truck Mods
Three very simple things improve the looks of the JJRC Q60 6 wheeler out of all proportion to the very little effort involved,
Paint the Windscreen centre divider, Paint the Windscreen wipers and arms matte black and Paint the door handles matte black.
It transforms the look of the cab.

I think I am about to upset someone

Hi Max.
Here a link to the same unit i used i note that this one has a fixed servo arm to selector rod on the gearbox minus the return spring as my unit has but virtually identical other than that.

Re: HL Truck Mods
Thanks for the link, Sub, I plan to go all out on at least one truck so I'll have to give that a try.
Finally got the electronics sorted out and tucked away in the WC51. Now starts the details and airbrushing, and the hunt for a driver. Maybe we could come up with just a body and use an AM head from someplace like verlinden? They just don't look right cruisin' around with an empty cab.

Re: HL Truck Mods
That is absolutely awesome work. Looks really nice, you defo need a driver and steering wheel. But being so open the head and steering wheel need to turn!!
Love the look of the ambulance, could you send a link where to download the file for that. I fancy printing one of those now i think i am up and running with Slic3r.
Is that the das micro sound in that jeep?
Everything about it like the bonnet detail and window frame and those wheels and tyres look amazing
