HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

I bought 3 6x6 truck sets with wheels and springs, but you'd certainly gobbled up all the axle only deals by the time I'd got there 8O :haha:

Sweet!

Plastic gears, but the ring gear is bigger than the WPL. So, it should be stronger and have a lower ratio.

I'm already running the brass gears, but the open diff's will be easier on the motor and electronics.

Decisions decisions...

Good afternoon,
Speaking of Open Diffs, the last axle repair parts for my 'Vintage' WWII truck, the Q60 came in today. Looking forward to playing around with it now. ;o)

Do the wpl 6x6 have a central axle or do the jjrc 6x6 axles fit? Just looking to upgrade to brass/metal internals?

Yep the wpl does have a central axle, you can easily make one from 2 rear axles.
The JJRC middle axles feel far more robust, it won’t be long before metal internals are available.
The JJRC axles are certainly my axles of choice now

Hi meatball.
Just for your info....if you get the wpl 6x6 in kit form then all the bevel pinions are brass as is the central axle crown wheel

Well mine did any way but have ordered the full 6x6 metal upgrade for mine inc the full metal front axle.

Cheers Sub,

Have you got a link for the metal upgrades in case I'm not lucky getting the metal kit form?
