Are you the same silversurfer who has a bit of a car collection in the states?
Very nice work by the way!

I've given the upper hull a first coat of camo. If nothing else, it has confirmed to me that, with an airbrush, I am still a novice. In this case, I diluted the paint far too much, resulting in the blotchy appearance. Hopefully, with another coat it will improve. The camo is loosely based on a vehicle from the Eastern Front in 1944. So here it is, warts and all.
The gun shield has not been treated yet.Richard

Looks ok to me mate. I would say paint like all German equipment would have had a fair battering by then so any blotches would certainly be in character.

Richard, it's looking great. Field applied cammo was never an exact science and they used the simplest of tools, old mops, rags, anything to reduce the profile of the tank so as to avoid enemy attention. It's coming along great!

Richard, many of my reference books show German armour in the Aberdeen proving grounds and although the images are not the best color, the details of the camoflouge are very much like yours. You can see irregular patterns with dark and light shading. Some look like someone took a spray can or a broom to apply them.
Once you apply a filter and some wash it will all come together quite nice.
Remember in the field, these fellows were not prepping for a display in the museum, but trying as best as possible to get some protection.
Keep up the great work

Thanks guys for your kind words. You've convinced me. In one sense, I'm trying to get as close to the perfect result as I can. I sort of lost track of the fact that the perfect result is not necessarily immaculate.

Re: SdKfz 164 Nashorn by Alwyn Turner
A little more detail complete. Looking at it, it does not seem much, but on and off it took me a lot of this morning. I found it quite fiddly and with my heavy handed approach, I managed to snap a couple of micro drills to had to rethink a tad. Anyway, what started out like this
now looks like this. It's not fixed in place, which accounts for the funny angle of the light.Richard
