Hi Rik try you local model shop I picked up some JST connectors that fit the Tamiya DMD for £1.50 a pair ( male and female ) with 30mm of connecting wire. If not look on evilbay under JST connectors. Hope this helps
Alan

PS If you can't find any let me know as I have a spare set down the shed.

Thanks Alan, I was looking at the JST ones, just sadly poor for the month now, lol. I'll definitely have to get some, nowhere round here sells them sadly. My LHS closed down years ago.

Cheers,
Rik

Thanks for the comments guys, im really glad you all like it.  :D

Well a couple of pictures this morning as I woke up at a silly hour this morning I decided to sort the glacis plate out.
I've removed the molded in mudflaps, im going to replace them with the Aber set. I know there not as strong, but its one more level of detail, and I have ideas on how to make them stay on.

I've also been working on a problem that seems endemic to Tamiya Tigers. Where the hull meets the glacis, it doesn't line up correctly. So i've fitted 2 magnets to the hull, and 2 to the glacis. This should hold it tight. I did have a few false starts though. The magnets strength keeps pulling one off the glacis even though i've epoxy resined it in place. Id like to keep the glacis removable, but if it keeps coming off, i'll just fix the glacis in place permanently.
Enjoy the pics guys.

A few more pictures for this morning. Just to show the magnets in action. Its nicely leveled the front. This is important because for some reason, Tamiya decided to not mold on the front most mounting point for the side skirts.
It is a bit of a task to take the glacis back off, but thats fine. I want it firmly in place.

Does anyone know a good place to get a tiny camera and screen? I was thinking of putting one behind the drivers vision port. It would be interesting to drive it like that.

Cheers,
Rik

Thanks for the comments Andy. Today i've been working on a few bits. The speaker box is sealed in and currently in a ton of clamps, when the glue is dried and cured, and i've tidied it up, i'll post some pics and video of the improved speaker.
I added the cross weld seam on the sponson. I'm debating whether to add the weld along the wavy bit on the sponson. I probably wont, as its tiny and will probably never be seen.

Image

I've changed the bottom screws to the Schumo hex ones which look a lot nicer. I was thinking of ways to flatten the bottom out. Just to add a bit more realism.

I have added bits of plasticard to seal the gaps at the front of the sponsons. Strangely Tamiya's seem to have all sorts of gaps on them.

Tomorrow I shall attempt to build the smoke unit, which will be fun I think. I want to get as many internal parts done as possible this week. I have next week off and want to start on the Aber kits.
Cheers,
Rik

Brilliant build, good attention to detail :) And your machinegun switch is just perfect, I'm always impressed by simple but effective ways of improvement  ;D I guess everyone with a 4+ channel radio will copy this idéa  :D :D ;D
