That is very, very cool, and seriously excellent work. The undercarriage detail is great. Have you thought about RCing one of them? At the very least I'll probably do something similar to your shortened truck. The stars look really good. Paint or decals, and if decals, where on earth did you find them?

Good evenin',
I couldn't get myself to pay the Ebay cost of one of the 1941 Fords but I did spring for a green 46' Chevy medium duty with barrels. Should work, even if only with my Pershing. Pics of stuff so far when I find the dang camera.

Something tells me it's gonna be a very interesting summer at Painless' house.
Painless, do you have the Indy Jones truck yet? Have you found a good donor vehicle for it? So far the Losi vehicles look the best, but they're so darned expensive.

Max,
I have the Indy Jones truck and a half formed idea for eventually RC-ing it. I still have that 251 in the works first. Ideas and parts for that are a little farther along. It's going to be a fun little slice of the war as time goes by.

I'm going to take one of mine to the LHS tomorrow and check out some of the rc trucks they have. They have a pretty good selection of crawlers and trucks, including Losi and Temper. In fact, I feel kinda bad because after i bought the temper online I saw it at the LHS for the exact same price. Now I wish I had bought it there. I really do make an effort to support my local shop. Especially since it's one of the last ones around!
I haven't forgotten about a piece for your park, Painless, but I'm looking around to see if i can do better than the John Deere. That's just too modern for the time frame.

The firetruck in army colors came painted green with its decals on the cab. The flatbed I used some left over HL self sticking for the hood numbers and stars.

Painless, sorry about the delay on the 251 I just lost interest in it for now.
I like your Mercedes Benz G4 that's cool! I had been looking at them for a while.

Good morning, Jack,
No worries. I've been pulled away from the 251 and every other aspect of the Hobby ( almost ) by having to build a new and livable home hundreds of miles away from what was 'normal' just a short month ago. The Tank room here at the ranch is slowly clearing out and I should be back to the fun in a week or so. Unpacking has been neat, kinda like running across old friends again unexpectedly. ;o) The G4 and the TD-14 were gifts to myself for accomplishing a tough move in next to no time. ( 4 days ) They are both amazing and beautiful to sight and touch. ( Not to mention, they will look bonzers at photo shoots in my lil' play area one of these days. ;o) Doing the Dozer up in OD will be a project for a rainy day.
regards,
Painless
P.S. Get yourself one of those G4s while they are still around the 90 - 100.00 range. They are already getting more expensive.

That is the tractor I have only it came in military colors. The 2 engine covers that you show sitting in the seat area made me recognize it.
I hade to make a small hanger out of a paper clip to keep the blade up as the lift pistons have no resistance to keep it up

. Don't see that for sale very often.
