Nice tip on the tinfoil for masking for paint. It's not just for hats anymore. ;o) The Schlepper is turning out very nicely. Cool find on the warheads for the ammo casings as well!

Thanks mate, good to be back. The best hat liners are from microwave pie packets !!
The warhead thing was pretty logical really, i was after .223 / 5.56mm but this was what I could GET !!
These ballistic capped hunting rounds are a nice shape, and have the trick cap on the end that can be painted a different colour as required.
I do need to create a small spigot on the blunt end to fit the shell casings, but now I have them, what to do next !!

99% certain it will !!
But to what degree im not sure. Really need to match the pair in keeping with the theme.
I will admit to being a bit short on patience now with this one................the King Tiger is a tempting mistress 8)
After swearing I would not deviate from the order I wanted, the StuG is looking a bit distant :shh:

I know where you're coming from Herman...it's the reason I usually don't make too many tank purchases when I build... big mistake this time...because over the Summer..there were so many good deals out there... think I overwhelmed myself...reason I kind of have a mental block on building or doing anything tank related lately..the Weather hasn't helped much either
Just like you I have the KT... then there's a Tiger...and two Stugs...thinking of those ...then trying to concentrate on the L70..amongst other things has driven me a bit nutso of late.....but digging out my airbrush and doing a self refresher has done wonders...and pretty soon ...should be back in the saddle again

Guess sometimes it's good to take a break once in awhile... just to get other ideas flowing on a better more organized path ;)

I reckon you are right mate..................wouldnt have the issue if I had not have had the KT sitting up on the shelf waiting for the kick off.
Broke out the mighty V05 hairspray again, extra hold and weather resistant !!!!!
Pre coated the stowage racks and stock cables with a coppery blend to allow a bit of weathering without to much hassle. The stowage is going to be hard-fixed, so no reall biggy with the details underneath.
I can tell ya, prepared as I was for the glossy & feminine result, it is still a shock to see a tank looking like its just been backed out of a poofy salon :O 8O

I got a bit over keen last night. Broke out the flat white & these thingos called brushes !
Thinned out 2/1 and dry brushed on my paint pallet which picked up remnants of earthy type weathering paints.
Ended up pretty good considering I wanted to do a bit of it then airbrush the rest.

Looks like this without touching the water & tooth brush to wear the WW off the hairspray.

Did this one pretty fast Herman... basically tracks and stowage and she's done eh?

yes mate, thats about all thats needed.
Did a bit of further WW wear with the toothbrush & water, put the tyres on & need to age the tracks & dirty him up a bit.
Add the stowage, paint the tools & seal it all.
The White Tiger & this tender do take up a lot of space when put together................ :problem: Might have to rethink the display base for them to include both.

You might think down the lines of what Greengiant does...and make your dioramas modular ...otherwise you're going to have one massive base to house those two tanks ;)

Yep, youre right, or I will have to move into a modest industrial building !!
Pushed on a bit more, weathered the lower hull a bit & managed to airbrush the tracks with my top secret "stuffed if I can remember the colours & volumes" track coating :haha: :haha:
Once dry- and trust me Gents- it was bloody hot this weekend so the tracks were pre heated & the paint virtually baked on- I covered them in a very thin wash of thinners & flat white with an added touch of raw umber.
Also got a wash on areas of the upper hull that would see foot traffic during the unloading process, and areas that would trap the crap that would find its way onto a tank.
Had distractions of the V8 Supercar racing from the home street circuit of Surfers Paradice AND the Moto GP round from Sepang, Malasia, ...................heat, booze, V8 racing, bike racing.................put the bloody tracks on backwards EH :O :{ :wtf: :-<

Hmmm............
