I have been very quiet on the forum, mainly because everyone's work is so impressive I feel extremely daunted that I can achieve anything close to what I have seen!! Plus research seems to be the best way forward for me with my very limited skills and experience. :{

I have to say ALPHA your work here is inspiring! Loving the gold Panzer  It kinda puts a different slant on this hobby that I hadn't considered. Your enthusiasm has encouraged me to realise what you can achieve when you go for it! Thank you.

I have an urge now to Mount a Darth Vader figure as tank commander of a King Tiger pimped out in black with Imperial cogs!! Hmmm?

:haha:

TKcommander.
The more you do the more you will achieve. But the important thing is they are your models do what you want.
ALPHA was worried how the forum would take to his style. he's now on page 5 and still going strong. :haha:
So TK just go for it.

Hello again Tk commander.... thanks... I do my tanks like this because it adds a little more fun... sure it's a different perspective.. but when I do ..do them up like this ... It reveals the essence of the Tank itself....Other modellers on the forum do similar things... as they strip things off... repair flaws...etc.... the difference is... I don't put as much stuff back on..So the tank itself comes to life... not what adorns it
Take the PERSHING as an example... not exactly my personal favorite tank.... but when simplified ... highlights some of the smooth great lines the tank actually has ...especially the "LOLLI GIRL" (media club) tank....done up in the scout/urban model ...for some reason when looked at in that pink paint.... really gave it a different "edge"
If it wasn't for the anime "GIRLS UND PANZER" I may not have ever gotten into this hobby...sure I knew it existed... but the thought of building "realistic" models are for me....was mostly a fond memory....It was the "twists " in the anime that inspired me...and if you look at the models I have shown... you can see how much fun I've been having... the fact that they run... is the gravy :D

STAR WARS is a great genre....though personally I would opt to put stormtroopers in that KING TIGER and paint her up like those Imperial AT ATs :D ...Vader would look goon in a black T34...with some nice miniature solar panels on the sides instead of spare tracks ...an additional plus would be the IR units... perfect R2 units

Some might wonder... why did I not do the STUG like this
Image

several reasons really..One because of the recoil and the IR mount...the other... because of all the freakin markings on that HISTORY CLUB's tank
and though the inaccuracies are basically my fault.... I do put some blame on the guys who had already done the mod.. using the later model Stug

Image

then plastering it all over the internet :wtf: ....not realizing my mistake right off... I did not want to backtrack to make the STUG III F model

With that said though... I kind of like the hybrid .... as it looks beefier ...especially with the addition of the winter tracks :D

Apparently I wasn't the only one stung by the inspirational design of the history club's stunning paint job :haha:

Hey there TKcommander... I wish my LEOPARD came out as nice as that IDF MERKAVA .... that one isn't mine... I found the picture last night when I was looking for images of the STUG....who ever made that... sure did a good job... though I think it's a 1/35.scale model...as it seems he has the proper decals for it :D
