Early December, Andy won't know until he has booked the hut again.

silversurfer1947 wrote:Kevin, I can't remember which tank you're looking for a solution for. If it's a Panther, you might like to consider one of these. It will cost you more than the basic components, but it is an extremely neat solution.
http://rctanksaustralia.com/store/index ... ucts_id=28 current cost about £15.70 including p & p.
Wow.... that looks brilliant, much better than the mushroom. It was actually for the King Tiger, but I just looked at the hatches on the Panther and King Tiger and they look identical.
Thanks
Kevin

I reckon it's intended to plug into the Mako 2017 board, which comes from the same source.

So what do I need to order.... the Mako 2017 board, the neater mushroom ring and presumably that's it ..... I already have some IR emitters
Thanks

I think so. All I did for the Sturmtiger was remove the Torro IR emitter, fit a replacement in a length of tube and fit the tube where the old emitter was. I think that with "proper" tanks, both the emitter and flash may be in the barrel, in which case you will have to work that one out yourself! My WSN T34 has that. I found a convenient hole in the mantle as I was unable to remove the existing from the barrel.

I dug this old thing up whilst clearing out the garage, seems to be an old 1/16 Hobby Engine Abrams. Is this of use to anyone here? No idea where the old transmitter is, and it needs a lot of tlc if it's ever going to run again, but could be useful for someone to practice painting on, or as a project.Image

I've had an idea. Can anyone give me an estimate of a realistic ditch crossing ability for our tanks?

Do you mean how wide so that a tank can drive straight over it, or so wide that the tank has to go down into the ditch and then climb the other side?
