OP might be talking AUD which like the CAD is just above the Zimbabwean dollar rather than USD. For those of us outside the US RC tanking is a very expensive hobby :(

All the silvering across the tank is where it's been rubbing against the polystyrene in transit. Kind of shows it's had a rough journey to get to you jumping up and down and rolling back and forth

It's on their official website the silvering, it's a attempt at weathering i assume.

I know that my tiger 1 has small amounts of silvering on it where it rubs against the polystyrene slightly darker than your. But after looking on heng long panzer.de at that tank they sell it like that ? but the pictures they show don't look as excessive as yours. They where probably trying it make it look used and worn but the silver is a bit much try going over the silver with some rust red and make it look like paint chipping should tone it down.

Torro does an overly aggressive job trying to "weather" their tanks. IMHO they should just stick to the stock painting which isn't so bad. Besides the garish camo colors when I saw the silver paint all over the Torro Tiger I I knew I had to repaint it.

You can see the silver on the light, the MG ball mount, the hatch edges, the turret lifting lugs and those aren't the worst of it.

I didn't know that they were doing that. Looks crappy. The only Torro/Taigen ones I bought factory painted were the mid-Tiger, Panther and T-34. None of those 3 had that silver weathering. I re-painted all 3 of them although the mid-Tiger and T-34 were actually nicely done from the factory. The Panther was well done but way too dark. The other 6 I either cobbled together from unpainted hulls or bought unpainted. Like John said the OP if he doesn't want to repaint completely can easily cover up with some proper weathering

I’d almost offer to repaint it just to know the awful silver was gone !!

OP would do well to take up that offer
