Thank you very much

Now truth be known to you and HDP that wasn't initially planned, just a happy accident that I also like quite a bit but will never see when the wheels and dirt are present.

Now as per the camo itself. After looking at a lot of period pics I tried to make a pattern that looked as if it could have been sprayed by the field support crews which is perfect for my beginner skills.
Herr Dr. Professor wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2025 12:06 am Well done, MrChef! I wonder if you left the shadows of the torsion arms simply by spraying with the lower hull upside down. ...on purpose? ...clever or lucky? Either way, Ecam is right.
Thank you sir. This was achieved since the Taigen hull has some weight to it and was placed on the same box suspended by the arms, spraying the basecoat down on to the side fenders. Again honestly when I initially noticed this I almost repainted over it but liked the rougher look and idea that this was at the end of the war and there was a bit of haste in production towards the end.

Thanks again for your continued support Herr Doc

That's going to really look nice once the tools and markings are on and you do your weathering.

Oooohh goodies ;)
Going to be interesting to see how the stencils go over that Zimmerit.
I have watched a mate do it on a couple of mine & his advice & demonstration was ........low pressure on the airbriush, do several light light passes rather than trying to get the coverage in one go. Same with the white, red or black.
Lower the pressure the less it will tend to try to get under the stencil edge.
Also, use Tamiya XF-69 Nato Black if you are going with black filled numbers(its not black-black, rather a grey black) and is ideal for crosses & numbers.

Practice.

12 PSI, 30/70 paint to X20A thinner, .3 needle.

I had spare zim sitting there figured I'd put it some mule use. Got to practice some more camo work too. This time I used the .5 needle for the tan and the camo. I had previously used the .3 needle on the camo on the tank.

I'm thinking of going with just white numbers-

Maybe back the pressure off a bit more say to 7-8 and feather the paint on from dead straight on to the stencil, and dust it into the outline from a longer distance.
Theres still a bit of leaching under the edges into the zimmerit crevices visible!
Im only repeating like a parrot the advice given to me from a seasoned stencil'er when I showed him your first go.
No way this is a criticism mate, rather a bit of guidance to perhaps improve on an already very good go.
He mentioned too that the Taigen vinyl Zimmerit is a fair bit deeper than Atak for instance, so the crevices are going to leave bigger open gaps for your stencil edges so more to contend with :/
He also mentioned that to do tiny touch ups with a brush to cover any leaching/overspray is quite common.

Your ahead of me by a long shot Mr Chef, I dont even own any stencils. :{

Oh no worries at all Mr. Bix. I completely appreciate your and any advice. This is uncharted water for me. Exactly why I thought I'd practice and share. Been watching videos on airbrushing stencils on rough surfaces since this attempt as well. I'm contemplating different fonts or combinations. I did shoot the satin clear coat. So there's progress towards weathering... Going to practice more. And start weathering the wheels and tracks in-between to break it up and keep it going. Thank you :D
