Sand bags!....................sometimes the simple things in life are not so simple eh ?
As I despise Miliput and I have some handy that I wont use on anything good, I thought "why not use the s#%t on something else" ?
Mixed the parts together & formed them into renditions of bags seen on a lot on Syrian machines.
Most of them are very white looking, but I couldnt bring myself to have bright white blotches on a tank I have !! :O
A bit of base grey primer, topped with some light tan wash to get them looking sandy-baggy, & a light coat of brown wash wiped off with a cloth.
Near enough for this kid ;)

Awe man...don't put down the Milliput...see it made nice sandbags... :)

Ha!! Yeah they came out pretty good I reckon.
I didn’t want to waste good Tamiya putty in them

What a great looking piece Mr. Bix. Extra little touches are always nice even if they are made with Milliput... Excellent work sir.

Thanks Mr Chef, I've had a bad run with Miliput in the past so its a bit of a hook in my craw.
I will say though, they have turned out ok.

Things I'd wish I had done now.

- should have replicated the pronounced "Dolly Parton" armour on the turret cheeks.
- should have bored the mantlet out more to allow an increased diameter of the barrel root.
- should have wrecked the snorkel tube a lot more.(not a lot of river crossings envisioned in Syria I'd say :/ ) or omitted it altogether.
- should have smashed all the I.R. spotlights & reflected intense small & medium arms fire effects on all the optics & exterior functions.
- Should have crushed the turret stowage bins ................a lot.............

Ahh well, coulda-shoulda-woulda- didnt :problem:
Next time eh..............

Rubble debris and crew comforts & personalisations next.
Some of this should do it
Some of this should do it

I saw the top three photos of the Milliput sandbags and thought, "What?! Yellow!?" 8O Then I saw the rest. WHEW! :D 1) I, too, have found Milliput not to work well. Of course, that may be a comment on my skill level.
2) Bix, you sure are great at making a tank look...unh..."experienced."
