Hi Rob
Looks just

like the bin, did you use a flame torch or soldering iron to solder the bin ?
I might just have to give the metal a go next time, though I do have a fair pile of evergreen to use up

Cannot wait to see it finished

2 weeks over 2.5 years. I can well believe it. Then there is the painting hours on top of that. I must admit, theres times when I am sick to death of mine

because all I want to do is run it. But there again when its finished I will probably be bored and want to start something else. How does Grompix do it. He churns them out in next to no time and they are all classics as well.
I look forward to the rest of your great build.
Cheers
STEINER.

many thanks steiner
it certainly can get tedious especially when all you want to do is "play" with the end result
really dont know how chris "Grompix" does it and boy the builds he produces are awesome seen his sherman up close and it looks 200% better than any picture of it

Rob, you are right about the non leaded solder It is utter pants and I find that I have to run the temperature controlled iron at a higher temperature to get the non leaded solder to melt on any electrical soldering I do.

Rob,I am a little late in praising your work.Excellent job, would like to follow you on the hatch mods. How do you plan to attach upper hull? Is that what the angle piece on the back hull plate is for? Also I posted a question about how high the idler wheels ride on my ASIATAM hull, and from your posting I see yours are the same as mine.Any ideas about this issue. Also had the same problem with gearbox mounting plate hole pattern and will follow your leed on that issue. If I may what tool did you use to cut out the hatches around the hinge area? Sorry about all the questions, you have done a great job and certainly would like to learn from your example.Blake aka SAXONDOG
