I went ahead with the wash... The Vallejo acrylic washes look grimy when dry, considering the dirt is intended to be water based. The Pigment mostly accumulates on the outside of the fluid, resulting in most Pigment not IN the Corner, but AROUND it. Even though I used a small brush and painted thi wash directly into the angles. When you have real deep u-shaped channels, no Problem, but everything with a 90° angle or less. The wash wont stay in the Corner...

Anyways, I found I wanted to modulate the paintjob with some oil paints, as the first step in weathering. The yellow is modulated by using 502 faded yellow for dark yellow. For the olive, I just mixed amounts of 502 olice green, burnt Umber and faded yellow to get a lighter brownish olive green. Due to the mixing it is not completely even. Then I just rubbed it on Corners and into larger surfaces. It turned out interesting so far.

This time Pictures taken in bright sun, giving a rich Color experience.

Ah not completely. But I wanted to have something I would be able to finish easier. And after only spending evenings with fitting and changing, I needed some tank for painting. I feel that the latter is more enjoyable for me. But the JP will be next.

This is what you get when Messing up your paintjob by washing off dust with water and the paint starts making bubbles. Sanding, repainting, and that is the effect. I wish I could reproduce it.

I went crazy on the grime Department.
1) Plaster+water+Vallejo desert dust wash+Wilder Road Clay, sprinkled on
That looked too much like concrete dust, to much separated round dots
2) Plaster+Water+Vallejo Oiled Earth wash+Wilder European Earth
Still too light, too much plaster!
3) I went ahead and used pure water to make runners top to bottom
4) mixed up some Vallejo European dust wash+water+Wilder Road Clay
5) dipped on runners and stains of Vallejo European earth wash
In between in between each step, I made pure water run down.
6) Water Washdown + Lightgray wash mixed with Vallejo Desert Dust Wash
I´m goona leave it like that for now

I have no idea, maybe a few oil stains? In the end i will try to fix everything with either watered down white glue or better use flat varnish?

Ok.... 360 of the grime now... Washed and rinsed over an over again... Used some Vallejo oiled earth wash and Engine Grime here and there. Rinsoed over again to bring it together.

Good Thing, I now have a full glass of grimy water rich in Pigments when decanting it.

I like the look of it now. Maybe I take one or to Pigments for dry brushing as I have just learned to bring it together a bit. Next will be the road wheels.

Edit: Oils have dried since last week and the look came out really nice.

Went ahead on the dust Department.

Started with the turret, dust and rain run down top to bottom, right?

I tried Vallejo Rainmarks. It is really hard to work with. I didnt find a way to feather it out like oils. In concentrated form it is really stark and as soon as you thin it down, it behaves like water and you dont get any streaks. So I tried to thin it down during the process, in the end I still have some stark marks.

Now I am in the process of using my home made dust wash (just the brush cleaning water from the previous process )

Looks quite ok I think. In the end I will try some toning down with just Pigments for dust as the last step.

As you note, I didnt do any Scratching at all. My Intention is to have a new tank, that is getting dirty during the process. Chipping will happen, any damage to the paint during handling will be "repaired" by Chips.
