Thanks Mr Lav, its very different from the normal Dark Yellow German base colour.
I have done the jack over an undercoat of gun metal, then washed over that with a dark brown MIG wash and it really changes and darkens the yellow.
If I do that over the entire tank, I risk turning it into a replica of my Pig-Stug.
Less-is-more will be in order.

Hmm, I've only got the one wash for yellow, but several for green shades.
I might have to get one.

Good morning, Herman,
Ad Lav has the right of it. Use weathering sparingly. I enjoy the use of those Tamiya Compacts especially for dust and dirt, things that would wear off of a tank's paint as it traveled then get added back on per the environment it was used in. Your IV is looking great!. ;o) Following along.
regards,
Painless

Looking good so far, can't wait to see the camo!
Please don't make it look like it's been parked next to the Atlantic wall since 44. Please!

No chance of that mate, these vb66 vehicles actually stayed pretty straight for a fair old while.
They never received camo until they had been in field for almost 6 months !
Some had extra armour added, some not, but the condition of them was very good for an indordinate length of time.
Mine will be weathered and a little bit dirty, but not like my STuG .
I don't know how I will cope with a clean tank

You ever get those "I'm sure I've forgotten something " moments ?............
Went to bed last night thinking about pressure settings, paint thinning, pattern and blending.
Ahem, woops, 17th birthday for daughter
Holy crap-much to do !
Thankfully, my domestic business executive had planned for me to be a blank face and had prepared directions accordingly
So off I went getting it done.
No olive green paint on, nope, none !
(shakes head and looks at floor shuffling awkwardly !)

Re: HERMANS 'GERMAN SHERMAN' PZIV F2 'B11'
Ohh, that was easy........"I" had already got one of those ready to go well ahead of time
The Pz IV running gear is really quite disappointing.
All the other aftermarket wheels etc have bearings, or at least bushes.
The Pz IV has nothing but clearance holes.
Short of carrying out a significant alteration to them, they will have to do.
All my new metal suspension and wheels are Taigen.
The poor old Pz IV seems to be the bridesmaid when it comes to quality parts.
Simple things like hub covers for the drive sprockets would be nice.
I'm sure there are German aftermarket suppliers that cover these glitches, but for me down on the big pimple on the bottom of the world, its just to much
