Yeah, that's why I'm making the transition to 1/16 scale. Cant handle tiny microscopic parts in 1/35 scale. I would love to see a pic of your fabricated part! :)

Good old Tamiya. Gotta love them.

I missed out on one of these early Tigers last year in eBay - seller was being a fool and wouldn't let me collect despite being less than 30 mins drive away.

I like the surface texture Tamiya incorporated into the turret. Not sure why they did not do so for the rest of the tank. Image

Sorry to hear that! This kit has been a joy to construct so far. My friend had this very same Tiger that I'm building now on Ebay for $395. It never sold. I happen to see that he had this kit sitting on a shelf in a background photo he posted on Facebook. I jokingly offered to buy it from him for $200 thinking he was not going to sell it. When he said it could be mine for $250, I couldn't get to the bank fast enough to get the money to buy this Tiger! I will never be able to afford another again...that's for sure! Actually the guy just sold me his already built & constructed Tamiya 1/16 King Tiger (No RC) for only $75! He also threw in a built but unpainted Tamiya 1/16 Kubel wagon in the deal for free! The KT is the early one with the Porsche turret & is nicely done but I will repaint to make it my own creation. That will be next after the Tiger I.

You got a good deal there!

There was another on eBay here for £250 but it didn't sell for ages, shame as its a cool bit of kit!

Just noticed that I got promoted in rank from recruit to private. Maybe after 300 models & 10,000 post I can be a Field Marshall or General of the whole RC Tank Army! :haha:

Yes I did! I'm a lucky man! There was some jealous modelers out there when they found out I snatched up this kit from my friend for that price! I'm not sure of the conversion rate but I believe 250 pounds is equal to around 500 American dollars.
