Good Morning,
Thank you, sir. It is a slower build than I normally do but it's about time to start working on the deck so that will speed up the amount of work accomplished at a go.
regards,
Painless

Took a little time today to get the casemate matched up with the upper deck. In the end I had to use the Dremel for straight line cuts then used a variety of files to clean and square everything up. The resin parts are nice and heavy duty and file like the best plastics. Next I will need to figure out a mounting system for the casemate to the decking. The decking I plan on screwing into place like a regular HL version so no issue there. I want the casemate to be removable for maintenance and smoker oiling. Pics:

Thank you, Ed. ;o) The early StuG Assault Guns have a certain pugnacious air about them it is true. Tonight I worked on cleaning up the rear of the deck and getting a little resin mounted. Instead of cutting off the entire rear face, I removed the 'L' channel that runs through the center with a razor saw. Taking a couple of larger files then, I filed and sanded the rear face smooth. This gave me a larger surface area to cement the new resin plate and channel on with than if I had just removed the old plate entirely. Pics:

Wow! Mato needs to bump up their advertising. I almost didn't buy these due to the Ho-Hum pictoral ad. These are actually heavy duty and extremely detailed.

The spare Sherman Exhaust deflector worked out very well as raw material for the StuG's exhaust deflector\air vent\?. Not without a boatload of cutting, filing and gluing tho'. The end result is a solid mount and looks almost exactly like the real article. Pics:

Back from an extended holiday weekend, I wanted to pick up work on the StuG again. Tonight's work seems small scale ( pardon the pun ) but it is critical to the appearance of these early StuGs. Pics:

I ran out of time to do the fine detail on these and will complete the next session..JPG
