Back in the world.
This one is giving back whats put in, I feel sorry for the poor old PzIII but it just didnt seem to reward.

With the close moulded guards on the HL version, there is sweet F/A room to put the mounting blocks with any relative scale.
Used P/E sprue to make what are representative guard mountings rather than full on accurate ones. I will put weld around them, but I really thankfull that I didnt tear all the guards off this thing. I really would have liked to fight off the glue monkey and at least have complete side armour than fitting out new material & blending it.
Oh well.................. :/
Fabricated the engine deck anti aircraft armour out of 0.64mm(.025") brass. This gives a 10mm(3/8") scale plate. Pretty close to the correct thickness. Visually it seemed to thin, but once the edges were filed they seem to be looking a lot better.
Drilled 1mm holes in each corner  , lucky they sell these in tradie packs of 10 !!!!!!
A packet of dress making pins with hex flats filed on each head seem to be ok for the mountings, these will run through 2mm tube into the deck over each vent. One picture I have shows the turret bussle at 130mm off the deck, so this gave me the approximate height to make the tubes, so the plates & pins would be cleared by the turret.

Also placed the commanders manual sight on the turret roof using an offcut of a transmitter aerial melted through the H/L moulded mount. Still need to do the cupola bars for this but these can wait.

Probably a wise move............this thing is a welders paradice 8O
Let it be known, my bloody expensive Jamie Oliver brulee burner sucked the Kumara and now Im making do with a made in the Peoples Republic of Equally Shared Poverty version. :(
When the thing blew its guts(and its Butane contents) out all over the place, it fair ripped the crutch right out of my gimp suit to say the least. :shh:
Thing is, the warning says not to use it more than an hour continuously...............clearly the designers have not had to simulate welds on a bloody King Tiger with a jewelers screwdriver :problem: :problem: ehhhhh?????

Candles eh..............low heat, to slow. had that many set up to try out it looked like I was running a seance !! Nah, I like the blue flame ;)

Got the plates all placed & superglued in position. Managed to get a finger stuck on my cheek as a side line :wtf: not cool, funny as a fright, but not cool.daughter to the rescue with nail polish remover.................she nearly pissed herself in the process, hmm, sympathy ??, heeeell no :'(
Had a malfunction with the tube & got carried away with the moment. frustration then took over & in the process of wiping the excess glue off & lifting my head lamp the ,two came together.

The first of the front plates went in first time spot on, the second was out an ants knacker & hung the turret up.
It was to late/early depending on your time perspective by then so I quit & went to bed.
(next day-today. sound of Vivaldi's Four Seasons)
Sorted the slight misplacement with the aid of a new sanding drum on my Ryobi tool & a burst of less than a minute.
Clearance restored - baby awake :shh: woops. She can sleep through an All Blacks V England test with me going off like a cane toad in a blender, but not through 45 seconds of high speed sanding ??

Anyhoo, I am happy they are on...................you can cheer now if you like Mr Alpha, I did !!
