Good info.
I just wondered cause an alloy wheel option may help with the crawling and look the dogs.
I know it doesn't mean much without pictures. But my hot rod has taken on a very industrial look with fat nuts and bolts and metal plates bolted to the chassis and it just looks mean.
Also think I have found a brushless motor that will fit in the transfer case. So speed aswell I hope.
Made some rubber isolator bump.stops to help it making too much of a noise. Should be god fun

Just had a look on Aliexpress, they now have a lot of metal upgrade parts, including gears and bearings.

Hmmmm, there is still a weak point on the universal joints, what you need is a proper metal axle and universal joints to handle the torque.

They've got all that, just go to the link I posted, enter
metal military truck parts in the search box and you'll find a bunch of stuff, but remember I didn't set the prices!

While I was poking around I found this, the DIY kit for the 6x6 for less than $45 USD.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/WPL-1-1 ... autifyAB=0
I've had an account at aliexpress for years but haven't bought anything for a bit so when I logged in I also got a nice little discount coupon so I got it for about $41 with free shipping. It will probably take several weeks to get here, and it's the kit version so I have to put it together, but the price was on par with the GAZ. I wonder if the camo cover from the GAZ will fit the 6x6? We'll soon see.
For me the kit part is a good thing, since it will be easier to at least throw in some metal gears during assembly, maybe even metal axles if the scratch-off lottery Gods are kind to me. I also found the whole axle kit here
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/DJI-Pha ... autifyAB=0
About 90 bucks US for the whole deal (and that includes shipping by epacket), front and rear axles and both drive shafts. Maybe for a special project, but just for boppin' around the yard (or garden, as you prefer) the plastic stuff mostly holds up, except of course for the gears. Oh yeah, that reminds me, backing up at full speed with an 8.4 lipo and doing wheelies may look very, very cool, but it will soon strip the differential. Don't ask how I know.

Hey Gary,
It looks like the kit comes with metal gears stock. Judging by the parts photo.

Uppon closer, closer inspection, it looks like it comes with one metal axle and 4 metal pinions.
