Finally got back to the workbench an here's an update. All of this was actually completed prior to my "sciatica pain". But did not have pics to post.
Using brass strip, angle and latex sheet obtained from Kinky Engineering a link Mick turned me onto. Thanks Mick.
I fabricated the rubber seals and their retaining strips that fit between the side skirts and the hull. Their intent is to keep debris from flying up from the running gear.
I also fabricated a rear non ballistic side skirt for the right rear. The specific tank I have chosen had the left one removed but retained the right one. Perhaps it was retained because the right rear "mud flap" was retained to protect the Infantry Tank Phone?
You can also see to good effect the rubber seal and retainer.
The area between the front and rear had to be "trenched" out to a depth of .045" while leaving a lip .030 wide on the outer edge. I used a .030" strip of Dymo Label tape to give me a set edge to run the cutting tools against.

Seals and Retainers temp installed

Astonishing work Mr Barry.....
Makes me wonder was that really sciatica pain you had experienced or simply discomfort from the USB cable your alien brothers plugged into your back to update your firmware......

I've been working on more of those "Devilish" details.
I need to fabricate 34 of the retainers used to lock the Reactive Tiles in place. Each retainer requires 6 individual pieces that are attached to the retainer assembly. I have completed 25 thus far, I can only do a few at a time before my fingers and eyes start to "wig out".
Completed Retainer assembly installed.
Constituent parts.
TAFN, Thanks for looking in!

Thanks as always Carl.
I think those are the last complex pieces I have to make dozens of though there are plenty of grabs left, I think
I still have dozens of bolts to plant and another 50 cal to detail out but I'm getting there.

Oh now Mr C, what have you done
I suspect even an extra-terrestrial will be tested doing all these
Like walking up a hill................look at your feet-dont look up to see how far there is to go, and never look back to see how far you've come........................
Eye on the prize
All the other cliches you can draw on to get them all done
Makes me want to drink just looking at them

Nah, its not patience..............Evil Knievel jumped over things just because it was there to jump, and I bet Mr C just does the same !!
But Ole Evil never took on an Abrams with this much detail...............that man knew his limitations
