KV 1 - quick mods.

Not quite TB , that turret is the current build . This one will give me a second option ( I've spotted another hull top for sale though , just what I'm looking for - my Asiatam hull is waiting . . . )

Trouble at 'mill , the undercoat ( Tamiya acrylic Nato green) didn't adhere completely so in desperation I gave it a thin coat of clear gloss varnish , hoping that as it absorbed and set it would stabilise it . . . It seems to have worked . This slowed the painting down as I needed to give it 48hrs to harden properly . However , today I started adding dirt texture and initial overcoat of Hu 98 - This is when my old compressor died on me half way through

. . . flakes of rust had got under a valve - VERY quickly fixed , luckily Phew . Here is the begining , some old dried mud , mostly around the inner hubs and on various protrubances . . .

• . . . Only rough for now , it will get the typical heavy ' forced road march ' dusting later .

. . . Now it's raining , bum , turret , tracks etc. will have to wait , WAH!

Doing the gun

. . elevator screwed onto plate , inverted and screwed onto a packing block on the roof. .

. . . the gun trunnions were also moved to the correct position . .

. . in place , measuring for new mounting tabs - the elevation slot was also raised using more styrene

. . . recoil mod underway . .

. . . the gun length can now be sorted . . .

. . . the gun will have two LED's , the front being the I.R. the 'flash' goes to the rear end ( with flats filed onto the sides to allow the I.R. wires to bypass )

I'll resite the microswitches and sort out the harness next
