I'm glad my rotor shield was put to good use! I am new to this forum but luckily I found this thread right out of the gate! I hope my Sherman work was helpful and I will be re-examining the suspension section when I get the courage to redo my VVSS tanks!
Ethan
P.s. Can't wait to see you do a Firefly! I am working on a mantlet for that too!

Looks very nice! Your work is inpiring!
Do you have a pic where you can see the whole tank with all of the equipment on board?
Cheers, Jens

Thanks Ethan. Your rotor shield is a masterpiece.

I think i'll have to redo the elevation though and the barrel just won't depress enough.
I'd appreciate any pictures of the setup you have if possible. Also the turret rotation sticks constantly, no mater what I do to correct it.
I may get round to a firefly at some point. I've gone back to German armour at the moment though. Just can't beat the Jerries on tank design! lol
30+ I do have some full shots, but please bear in mind I need to change the rope holding down the stowage;
Cheers,
Rik

Rik,
Swap the middle and final rotation gears in the mechanism (so that the slipper is on the middle and not the final stage) - I think there is one screw holding the final shaft in place and the other has a small circlip that cen easily be removed with a small screw driver.
I had the same problems with my Easy 8 and a friend's Pershing, until Paul suggested that fix.

Thanks for the tip mart, i'll have to give it a go.
I did superglue the slipper, and planned on replacing it with a blue gear at some point.
Cheers,
Rik

Awesome work on the tools, what wood did you use?

Thanks mate!

I used cocktail sticks for the shovel handle, and plain balsa for the rest of the tool handles.
They were stained with a medium oak stain I believe, and a touch of furniture oil to seal it.
They came out a lot better than I thought. I never really had any woodworking skills, lol.
Cheers,
Rik

Hello:
Do you have contact information for the one who supplied the rotor shield? I have looked all over the place. I did order the cast hull and details from Mr. Aguilar. I found photographs of a firefly that used the M4A1 late large hatch hull, so this will be the basis for my conversion. By the way, great work all the way around. What AV Olive did you use?
