Ermmm, shameless plug from that guy down under peddling his wares.....

I have a new part for trading, it's a thin 50mm Convex Dish, unlike the Tiger Road Wheel which sinks inwards this one bulges outwards as does the Pz 38 (t), Hetzer series, it's also good for slipping over the outside of a Pz III drive sprocket to simulate a Hungarian 43M Zrínyi Assault Gun or Italian P 40 tank or similar Drive Sprocket.

the Disc needs to be trimmed down for use on H-L's Tiger wheels which are slightly under scale at 49mm (should be 50mm), probably 3-4 mm of trimming is needed to get it under the "rubber" & only just a slight trim, enough to further expose the teeth if using it on a Pz III Drive Sprocket.

pics to follow when I have time.

same deal as always.....happy to take your junk in exchange :shifty:

SUCCESS ! after a concentrated burst of building she ran ! of course every bloody battery in the house was flat but I got her up and running on tracks all be it breifly. Will attempt a video upload though its not too good. I am proper dead pleased now...thanks for all you support guys. Now on to the SEA TRIAL ! I was worried that she wouldnt sit right in the water...now Im worried she will float at all. Fingers crossed photo and video evidence will follow.
OUT

Quick edit, and an albeit short and grainy clip of the the first run...I was trying to do too many things at once but hey what the heck !

Good Job Nick! I'm looking forward to seeing the sea trials now that you have a functioning chassis. Have you added any grousers to your track, or are you going to wait and see what the water performance is like first? I determined that they were needed on mine. Water performance on my LVT 4 was substandard without them. By the way, the last time I was a Lance Corporal was back in 1966.

Thanks Herman and well done on the promotion 8). You have me on seniority there I was last a Lance Corporal in mmm 1989 !. Not going with grousers yet, I'm hoping the chevrons on the Sherman tracks will do the job and be robust enough to last. Plan B is still to look at Dremmeling them into a grouser like shape or at least thin them a wee bit. Plan C would be to secure grousers like you did but bed them into the chevrons. I guess it's a compromise between scale appearance and function. Hoping to water proof the hull and plug any holes this weekend.

More success, She only bloody floats !! Small leak where I had over zealously drilled out one of the suspension mounts but thats now plugged.
Herman, the Sherman tracks provide ample propulsion (well in the bath anyway) They are clearly not shifitng as much water as your cleated ones did, but in the limited space of the tub she made way and could be steared at what looked to be a sort of scale speed.
Again multi media evidence will be forthcoming, needless to say I am very pleased. Now just tidying up the top deck and making the .30 cal tubs and engine grill for a swift finish.
