Starting to look very nice. Simple work can really improve these models. Next job, remove the remains of the aerial.

No its a legacy from the old 27mhz systems as the receiver arial connected to it and you added a wire arial to it
Its fairly easy to remove
i used long nosed pliers and gently levered it out on my 4 German tanks then filled hole with modelling putty

Alan has the right Idea! Close up that leftover hole with Putty and once it is dry, stamp out the access hole used to unscrew the cover for engine access.

Also you can lever it out from the top of hull without taking hull apart
