Such grilles can only be found on a new tank, on which no human foot has yet stepped.

Mr 2556's build is fantastic.
And Mr Pavels assistance with vital detailed pictures is invaluable for all of use with a T55.

The sight glass is covered with a cover plate...
I don’t even get around to doing it...
Ask which unit you need to look at, there are a lot of photos, if I find one, I'll show you!

Some more progress on the T-55.
Turret Modifications:
I modified the turret recoil & elevation by fitted new bushings, slides & supports to remove the excessive play & slop, it’s now very smooth & precise in operation.
Fitting the main gun tarp proved tricky & quite challenging, it needed to be fixed securely but remain flexible so as not to impede the full elevation movement while still be removable for maintenance etc.

I agree Pavel, a lot of T-55s do look quite well used & as a result are now showing their age.

Looking good. Defiantly need to use the build as a reference if I ever get back to fixing my bunged up T55. That's the last tank I bought used and will be the last tank I buy used.

It looks beautiful!
On a small hatch for firing flares from a pistol, make an imitation of a spring, it will turn out even more beautiful
I’ve added the spring as you suggested
