Some paint work update.

The Hairspray chipping method worked but was a TOTAL PAIN IN THE A55!!! I do Not suggest using this paint for this process and of course doing a repaint like I did which I'm sure didn't help with an extra layer. But seeing how actually thin the paint layers were I don't think the extra repaint contributed all that much to doing this process. I feel it was the TS lacquer based paint. Now I was fully aware of how much more effort it would be to do as per the demo video I watched, I just never had the physical experience of Tapping and Jamming Sharp Pointy Things into my model with none to minimal result. The most successful tools to chip/scratch this paint was 600 grit wet xandpaper, Stainless steel and Brass wire automotive detail brushes and Professional Scotch Green Pot Scrubbing pads. I'm Not kidding. It worked. Not exactly the way I wanted and not exactly the results I wanted but chalk this up to another learning experience.

Then I applied MiG, Grey Filter F400 to tone this down and provide fading for the skirts. I also ended up highlighting some of the chipped paint with Tamiya Dark Grey XF24 and added some more chipping paint with Ammo MiG-0044 chipping paint

Mind you this is all out of my normal order of detailing and weathering but I had to adjust accordingly. This is far from presentable and a way off from complete but I figured I'd share some more progress.

Thank you, I am pleased. It's been quite a journey.

Now I start the coulda, shoulda, woulda list like Mr. Bix. But I have no regrets and am looking forward to the next one.







The stupid ropes on the crate are for You Herr Dr. And I have a great way to make them now, I made a bunch for the future.

So 'fess up: how did you make the ropes?
